Junior Jazzercise Beach Camp

this summer I held a Jr. Jazzercise three day camp for kids. It was hours and tons of work, yet work that was so fun and rewarding. Abbey had a lot of her friends there, Desi helped me out and another mom as well. (couldn't get her to dance though!) ;)

Family Picture with Brandon, Brady and Kelci

Family Picture....us and the three girls!

This was also taken at my cousin's house. Thought it was a good time to get a family picture in, since we were all dressed up!
Here is Aunty Abbey holding sweet Brady at my cousin's house after my Grandpa Weaver's funeral recently. Grandpa would have turned 84 this December. Brady is his great, great grandson.

Brady....

Here is Brady in his little chair...it seems he really likes it, so much so that it puts him right to sleep!

Here are some pictures of Brady!! On the quilt I made for him. Boy he is looking more like his momma now.... These were taken about 3 weeks ago...so I am sure he has grown much just since then.

Here is the poor old green toilet.....it got thrown out in the front lawn yesterday!! Okay, I guess it was best to replace that....its not like the seat matches....nor is it a pretty green!

Have to post some pictures of some more home improvement stuff......possible captions.....close your eyes if you are easily offended....." The Stinker" "The Movement".....any other whitty thoughts! We were being a bit silly, but this is the new white toilet that we are replacing the avacodo green one with in our upstairs bathroom. This was before it made it up the stairs!!
Like father, like son!!

So here are the finished drawers! Its nice to have them on there. I didn't realize how nice it is to have SOMETHING to grab when trying to open a drawer.

Renewing the cabinets

As part of prettying up our house we gave the cabinet a good scrubbing and a little wood conditioner....don't they look perty! I know you probably don't remember what they looked like!! This is good, trust me. We also FINALLY added some knobs/pulls for the cabinets.

This has been a long time coming. I have wanted to do this for a long time......I think it makes them look great! Well, now comes the BIG dilemma....exactly where do we place those drawer pulls....do you think those bigger bottom drawers should have the pull centered, or 1/3 or so of the way down. Let me know your vote. Hubby and I differ in this opinion! I know, its not a life changing decision....but hey I have to live with it, at least for a while.

Replacing the floor

Well...we are trying to fix up the house to get ready to sell it....doing the floors was one of the bigger projects we are undertaking. This is a before and after of our bathroom floors! They turned out nice, except for the fact that the linoleum that we were given was not the same as the sample that we picked from. The flooring place is going to make that right. The other problem that we had was when we got home to the floor, it was lumpy. Apparently glue that should have been rolled out with a special roller! Not too happy with the guy that installed it! The rest of it looked great though. Nice cutting job, caulk, etc. Oh and we also replace the tub surround!
(Happy friend?!)

New Crib...

Great Grandma Mona and Grandma (that would be me) and Grandpa (Gary) went together to purchase this beautiful new crib for our little Brady.
Gary makes it look like it was hard work...it was fairly easy...but it made for a long night...we got back to the motel around 1:00am Sunday morning.

Okay...so some of the new Grandma and Grandpa

Aunt Desi with her new little nephew

Doesn't she look like a proud Auntie?

Here is where he was happiest!

Isn't he a cutie...

Here are a few more...with Jacy holding him and Abbey...guess Desi hasn't officially held him yet! Will have to remedy that when we go to the hospital today. We thought Kelci might have gotten out of the hospital today, but they are saying tomorrow.

About to be a Grandma...

Well, we just last night got THE phone call from Brandon saying that they were in the hospital.
Kelci is not due for a couple more weeks, but she is having high blood pressure issues, and they are planning on inducing today! So we are making the trip down there to welcome our first Grandchild, Brady Michael. Will post pictures when we have some. Pray for their safety, as well as ours as we travel down.

This is a picture of the quilt that I made for the baby. And actually, this quilt is the first that I have ever made that I fully finished! I started and ended it in 2 days. I think it turned out pretty cute. I had so many colors going that it was hard to find a fabric to use for the border/back...but my sister Rhonda found this one with balls all over it, and it just seemed to work perfectly with the dotted pinwheels. I am happy with how it turned out.

Vietnam War Memorial in Bremerton

Jacy took this picture...she sure has a good eye for good shots!

We also attended the Vietnam War Memorial on July 15th, that traveled to Bremerton. It was great. The kids weren't real interested at first, but we drug them along, and they seemed to become more interested as we walked along the wall. They would take there piece of paper and run their pencil over last names that were the same as some of their friends. Mind you, we don't know anyone who died in Vietnam, at least to my knowledge, they were just finding Johnsons, Bells...any name that was familiar! We were there right before their closing ceremonies, and Jacy wanted to stay really bad, so Gary stayed, and I took the other two girls home. They had a long day. Jacy seemed to really enjoy the ceremony, they had speakers, Navy Band, candles...etc. Abbey had just gotten home from 4 days at camp and we drug her to Narrows and this!! She did well, though she really just wanted to be home!

Narrows Bridge 3 Grand Opening Party

Sunday the 15th of July the new Narrows Bridge opened. They threw a big party and let everyone walk across the bridge. Gary thought it would be great for the kids to have this 'once in a lifetime' experience' to walk on the new bridge, so we went. We got there about to the parking area about 3:30, waited for the shuttle bus, and then found out that we just missed the last run! The bus drivers told us there was plenty of parking closer down to the bridge, so we went on down and did get a spot right close, but when we walked down to get on the bridge, a policeman stopped us and said they were told to not let anyone else on the bridge starting at 3:45!! We just missed it! We begged, but he wouldn't let us pass. So as we disappointedly walked toward our car, one of the spectators told us we could climb down the beauty bark up by the honey buckets, so we went over there and stood there a while looking at the bridge...there was a cop below! Then Abbey had to go potty, so I took her down, no cops...so I tried to get the rest of the family down...then Abbey got afraid and decided she needed to go back up! Finally, Gary and Jacy came down and we walked onto the bridge while Desi and Abbey waited up top!
It was kinda disappointing to not get the full experience...we could have gotten passports and gotten a stamp at each end of the bridge, walking it, but at least we got on! Aren't we sneaky?!

Just learning this...

Desi, Abbey and friend Caleigh at Homeschool Wild Waves Day--a wet and wild time!!

So this is my first post to my new blog. Not sure if this is going to work for me, but thought I would try. I think this is a great way to keep family and friends connected to what is going on with our family. So I hope that I can keep up with keeping this updated!
